sweet syd's first week

Wow o wow...how quickly this first week has gone! In one short week Sydney has cried her first cry, learned how to be a good eater, met her brother & sister, taken over a large portion of our house, lost her umbilical stump, brought on so many kind acts from our friends & family and made our lives better forever. What a wonderful week!

So today I decided to give Sydney a sponge bath.

Here is little miss, ready to get clean, although not very happy about it...

...and this is my face as my mom went to take our picture and Sydney got her revenge-she pooped through the towel right onto my foot! Notice the little grin on her face :)

Syd's first week home has been full of all kinds of silly stuff...

Our new baby girl arrived today..rather quickly and almost perfectly punctually :)

Sydney weighed a whopping 8 lbs 12 oz & is 20 inches long.

We are all quite smitten with her!

Mom & baby are doing well and glad to finally get to see one another face to face!

just sing...

Megan's small but powerful choir attended a festival where they got to sing as a small group as well as with several other choirs. Baby decided to stay put so that mom & dad could have a chance to be super proud of their first baby :)

While Megan prepared for her concert, we toured around the area & found a fabulous steam train & went for a ride.

Whee!!

Holy cow!! That may have been even better than the train ride :)

Ok, folks, so this is the desperation I have come to. Tonight we dined on Prego Pizza in hopes of inspiring the baby to come.

trick or treat

Our Halloween day was a busy one! We still had pumpkins to carve, spider webs to put up & trick or treating with friends to do! Luckily, with the help of lots of sugar & sweets, we managed to do it all & have a lot of fun :)

Steve ran in the San Jose marathon on Halloween.

Not exactly a treat, but luckily there were no tricks!

We haven't found anything exactly like the fabulous cider mills that we so enjoyed in MI, but we did manage to have some fun at a small local place that called itself a farm even though it didn't grow anything :)

(we didn't mind that it was about 20 degrees warmer than when we used to go & when we left we could still feel all of our body parts!)
