almost there...

Hi!  I'm back..and almost one!  11 months is big stuff.  As mommy predicted, I am taking some steps.  But so far just a few here & there  Hopefully, if I get a bit braver, she will get a video of me & put it here for all of you to see.  I just got back from my first beach vacation and it was great!  I loved the ocean..even though it was so cold!  And I found the sand quite tasty :)  I love to make noise & yell along with the big kids and one of my favorite things every day is listening to mommy read books to Sydney and me while we snuggle in her bed.  She is one of my best buddies for sure! I am starting to be a really good climber.  I am always trying to get to those steps and I even like to try standing and climbing in the tub.  For some reason mommy doesn't seem quite so excited about this!  I love the warm weather so far because it means lots of playing outside & in the water & eating ice cream.  I hear this birthday stuff is pretty fun so tune in next month to see what happens!!

The cousins, Bella & Teo, have been staying with us for a few weeks and it has provided a number of very cute & sweet (and a few crazy!!) moments.  How lucky we are to get this fun chance to all hang out & play :) 

 

mother's day weekend

It all started so well. We headed out for a Mother's Day bike ride, the first with all 6 of us.  The day was nice and warm, the kids were all being good sports...it seemed so perfect.  And then-the sky opened up and DUMPED rain on us.  We stood under the biggest tree we could find, but still found ourselves soaked through in minutes.  Luckily the little girls were covered in the bike trailer, but the rest of us look like we took a shower with our clothes on.  A very kind man who lived nearby offered us his garage, which we gratefully took him up on.  We waited a bit and decided it looked like it was clearing up, so we made a break for it.  Unfortunately, in our haste to get home, we were all going really fast and Davis lost control of his bike and flew over the handlebars.  Miraculously when he got up, he only had a slight bump on his forehead and a hole in his tennis shoe.  He is so tough!  As you can see in the pics below, by the time we got home he was back to all smiles.  I can't say in the end it was the bike ride I had dreamed of, but it is certainly one I will remember!

Here is a glimpse at life over the past week or so.  From smiley sunny days to indoor play on rainy days.  And crazy hair for my book end gals :)

10 months already...how time flies when you are a crazy family of 6!  Sweet Hadley is up to so much.  4 teeth now and she loves to show them off!  She is crawling so fast and is starting to stand by herself more & more often.  I have to imagine the walking will happen before I am back here for the 11 month update.  She likes to "talk" back and forth and will eat just about anything we put in front of her.  Preferably big people food!  She is loving having her cousins here as she has even more playmates.  She is a very content baby, a good sleeper and a great eater.  A perfect end cap to our family :)
