happy easter!

At church today a kind lady was complimenting us on our family.  I thanked her and said we were very lucky. She quickly corrected me and told me it was not luck, it was called being blessed.  How right she was. And how blessed I feel when I look at these sweet faces that surround me every day.

 

eggs, eggs & more eggs!

We got hopping yesterday and started preparing for Easter.  First stop. a visit to the Easter bunny. (sorry-no pics :(  they won't allow my camera & I refuse to pay the $20 minimum!) Next, paper eggs.  Such a fun & simple idea I found on pinterest.  And finally, we dyed glitter eggs (amazingly-no spills this year!).  Now, we just need a little bit of warmth & we are ready!

 

camping & beyond

Spring break has arrived and so we decided to hit the road.  We headed to VA to find the Appalachian Trail & do a little exploring.  We got to do a bit of hiking and see some pretty amazing waterfalls. 

 

Our little cabin in the woods was cute & cozy.  The kids had great fun setting up house :)

Our adventure changed a bit when mother nature surprised us with a last blast of SNOW! But it didn't stop us from having fun or from having our s'mores!

 



A final stop at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home.  We are sure that the orchards & gardens are lovely, but all we saw was a lot of white!

 



9 months

Hey!  It's me Hadley.  If you look closely, you can now see 3 teeth in my mouth!  Being 9  months is super exciting.  I am eating all sorts of tasty things from eggs to avocados to ice cream.  Yum!  I am constantly pulling myself up on everything but still haven't taken any brave steps on my own yet.  Don't worry..they are coming soon :)  I just went on  my first camping trip & I am a real trooper.  I  love the view from the bjorn and thankfully can sleep anywhere.  Rumor is that spring is coming and I can't wait to take on the great outdoors!!

There's a first time for everything!  I finally broke down and made my own baby food...only because my amazing Ninja came with some recipes & I love it enough to try.  Besides, doesn't #4 deserve to get something first???

Hadley loved it!  Only time will tell if there is more in store for her....

the great falls

Our crazy weather shifted from winter snow to a first taste of springtime in just a couple of days!  We decided to take advantage of the warmth & headed out to hike & explore the Great Falls of the Potomac River.

snow day!

Thanks to the storm, we got one final (let's hope! we are ready for spring!) day off from school.  It is debatable whether it was actually needed,  but we all certainly enjoyed it.  I didn't get the snow family in all of their glory, but here is what was left this morning :)
