Oh Christmas Tree...

It's tradition!!  Megs & Mom Nutcracker night out :)

 Over the weekend we decided to go try out the Building Museum and then catch the tree at the White House.  Here are some shots of our fun at the museum with the cousins...

And we were also surprised to find out they were preparing the museum for a holiday celebration that was happening the next day and would include many celebs as well as be attended by the president.  Megan kept her eye on the stage to find out who the guest stars would be and actually got to see Sheryl Crow,  Janelle Monae, Anna Kindrick and Pat Monahan!

If you are interested in seeing the event, it is called Christmas in Washington and airs on TNT Friday, Dec 20 at 8 E.T.

We grabbed some dinner after and found ourselves in DC's version of Chinatown.

And this is....NOT the tree at the White House.  The rain kept us from seeing it, but this was a pretty nice looking tree at Union Station.

And of course...the baking!  So many goodies, so little time. We tried out these cute Santa hat brownies this year, which were fun and festive.

But so far our new favorite, which is going to become a regular, are these brown butter salted snickerdoodles.  Ridiculous Good!

And so far, we've got it!  Let's just hope it can last :) The snow has painted a perfect backdrop for all the festive things we've been up to lately....

Day 2-Packing Snow...good for playing!!

Little Hadley's first time in the snow!
(In typical fashion, she enjoyed playing in it approx as long as it took me to get her ready.  Maybe less.)

let the excitement begin!

Davis lost his first tooth!  Which was quickly followed by the loss of the second bottom tooth!
(look out tooth fairy...there's a whole lot of wiggly ones in there!)

The 5th grade concert happened this week at school  & lucky Megs & some gal pals had solos in the festive performance.
(the sweet little voice you hear helping them out is sister Sydney)
